In 2010 we introduced an in-house Timber training Academy that included a range of training for identified "Timber Champions". The Institute of Wood Science Foundation Certificate Course, as was, now the IOM3 Examination in Timber Studies, was fundamental to that programme.

Jim Coulson of Technology for Timber Ltd suggested that he could deliver the programme for us as a classroom based course over a period of 5 months with an exam at the end. This was a great fit with the learning styles of our identified Timber Champions.
